Off The Trail Journey

Find your way to Pine Haven and meet me there in 10 minutes. If you hear the coyote call, then high-tail it there cause you’re out of time. This opens a whole world of possibility and independence. Choose your route, deal with obstacles, make sure your friends stay together, watch out for dangers. How did you get to Pine Haven? Share your stories of adventure.

Hi there Tree Friends? We now have a quiet place to hang out together. Chat with your families about your quiet place, and hopefully it’s warm enough for winter visits. How might you make it warmer?

Animals are like postmen, carrying packaged seed suitcases stuck to their fur and depositing them in great places for them to sprout. What did you pick up on our wooly sock walk? I wonder how animals feel about all these seeds (sometimes prickly ones) stuck on their fur coats. How do these seeds get to places where they can sprout? Imagine making up a story about one animal's seed walk. Maybe write it down and share it next week:)

Games help us learn and have fun at the same time. Our seed, sprout tag had one danger in it. What was it? (lawnmower). Next week we have someone who got LOTS of seeds and sprouts to chase after. Who? (Frog)

Wander time was busy with many discoveries. We had some fossil hunters, catapult creators and lots of fishers. What is your wander time story?

Places We Love

Kids love choices, so we decided to offer some fun activities and held a vote. Some made seed candles and magic wands, while others were tree guardians tending to our new tree friends. What did you do? Our new trees, Bur Oak and Serviceberry got watered and we planted some bulbs for next spring. They also have new name stakes! Thanks for helping out!!

Can’t believe that 3 o’clock could come so fast. We are so grateful to Hawk (Erin) who came out for the whole day and planned a really fun activity for us. Daisy says things in fun ways. Can you think of one way Daisy helps us focus or remember something? Life lessons from a master teacher! Raccoon was busy making sure to record your discoveries and antics. Thanks to the team who pulled together while we were missing our friend Beaver.

Meet you there next week Forest Friends!
