We say so long for fall to the farm in a flurry of wonder about the colour RED! It is Remembrance Day, so we connect with the poppy for friendship and gratitude. How many poppies were hidden on the homestead trail? Did you find all 10?
We enjoyed sharing the poppy poem and looking for it's bright red colour along the trail. What did red objects were you surprised to find hidden in trees as we walked to Pine Haven?
Our stories today were about colour and friendship. If each colour were a feeling, what might they feel like? Most days we are a mixture, more like a rainbow. This group was definitely a rainbow of energy as we played and searched out the little Red-winged Blackbird nest amongst the cattails.
Tearing is so much easier than cutting. We made artist poppies but you could use these same colours to make a ladybug or other fun picture. Thanks Ladybug for dreaming up this fun craft. We loved the cozy cabin with the little fireplace heater.
The horses are always happy to see us! Which noses did you pat? Who did you feed a 'hay bouquet' to?
We are grateful to Dragonfly who leads the Acorns & Oaks programs and her highly capable volunteers Ladybug (Deb) & Chickadee (Gail). Thanks to Raccoon who captured our final fall morning in pictures. Can't wait to see you back for more fun at the farm this spring!
